If you prefer the historical, Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique, dates back to 1850 when Portugal ruled. The city is a melting pot of cultures and when walking down the streets, the historical district brings to life the days when Portugal ruled.
There are beautiful 4 star hotels in all the major cities, and the outlying areas have quaint bed & breakfasts for your enjoyment also. If you like to shop, one of the largest shopping areas is the Central Market in downtown Maputo. Bartering is very common along here if you don’t cause a big commotion!
