Mozambique is a wonderful country located in Southeastern Africa which is bordered by the Indian Ocean. Navigating through Mozambique is not only magical but a unique and everlasting experience.

Travellers who wish to travel through Mozambique are expected to pay an immigration tax of 2 U.S dollars, or the equivalent currency rate. You are able to travel through by land, boat or air. If you choose to travel by land, Malawi has 8 different border crossings. By land means that you are able to either drive, take a train or Greyhound to get to your destination.

Traveling by train is the slowest way to navigate through Mozambique. Komati line
serves the Komatipoort and Jo’burg border post daily (13 hours). You can continue to Maputo by rail but it’s a quicker trip if you take Chapa

Traveling by boat will allow you to take the llala ferry which stops at Cbu and Metangula weekly. You will have to obtain a visa at Cbu before you can continue on with your travels.

If you are interested in traveling by air, Kenya Airways, as well as ‘Linhas Areas de Mozambique, and Pelican Air Services are popular ways to travel by air.

You will find that there are many ways to navigate through Mozambique and all are open to overland travelers. As long as you have the right documents and passes, you won’t have any issues,

There is so much to see and do in the country of Mozambique. People need to keep in mind that most of the visits there are trouble free. There are also an underlying threat from terrorists. If you want to travel in this country, you just need to be careful because tourists are the most targeted. People who visit this country more than likely go for business purposes and not for pleasure. Or most people have family members in this country that they may visit.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here. That is the only reason that people will visit Mozambique, especially now with all of the things that are going on. You should always remember to be vigilant and avoid walking alone at night, because there is a high rate of street crimes also. You should also remember to not display valuables or money while you are there. Beaches are not protected, so you must remember to be vigilant at all times while you are on the beaches as well. You should remember to keep your car doors locked because there have been high cases of car jacking. That is only if you are going to be riding in a car. Keep these in mind.

Whether you’re researching on your own using Cannonsatellite or you’ve got a formal travel planner, keep the following in mind
Get Your Visa EarlyYou’ll need a traveler’s visa to enter Mozambique and you should apply early as they can sometimes take months to come in. You don’t want to be stuck waiting for your visa a week before you’re supposed to leave!
Get Your ShotsCheck the CDC website to see what they’re recommending right now for travelers to Mozambique and talk to your physician as well. It’s better to spend some money and go through slight discomfort now than to deal with an illness while you’re abroad.
Keep Checking AdvisoriesMozambique is amazing but there is a bit of political turmoil and some weather concerns to keep in mind. Check the US Travel website weekly to make sure you’re up on all the local information and steer clear of any areas that seem to be undergoing social change.

Mozambique is a wonderful place to take a holiday, or spend a few weeks relaxing. The country of Mozambique is located on the eastern coast of South Africa, with the Indian Ocean as its border. Not so long ago this area was the top destination for honeymooners and now restoration is bringing shops and restaurants back up to par. Tourism in South Africa is on the rise and you will need a passport to get into Mozambique.

The natural beauty of the ocean, the mountains and the beautiful sunrises let you know that you are in the right place. On the Indian Ocean coastline you’ll find scuba diving, boating, and fishing to enjoy.

If you prefer the historical, Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique, dates back to 1850 when Portugal ruled. The city is a melting pot of cultures and when walking down the streets, the historical district brings to life the days when Portugal ruled.

There are beautiful 4 star hotels in all the major cities, and the outlying areas have quaint bed & breakfasts for your enjoyment also. If you like to shop, one of the largest shopping areas is the Central Market in downtown Maputo. Bartering is very common along here if you don’t cause a big commotion!

The weather in Mozambique is difficult for the first time tourist to handle. So, dressing correctly to suit the weather will make the tourist’s stay in Mozambique more comfortable so they can enjoy the many outdoor tours and sports. For a first time tourist, the best months to visit Mozambique are April through September. These are the country’s cool and dry months. The day time temperature ranges from 24C to 27C. December through march are the least enjoyable months to visit Mozambique. This is the country’s rainy season. The weather is hot. sticky, and temperatures range from 27C to 31C. To help adapt to the weather, tourist should pack clothes that are light weight and light colored. Cotton tops and cotton trousers will keep tourist cool and dry in the humid weather. Long sleeve shirts are better because they can protect tourist from the heat of the sun.

Mozambique is a beautiful country located on the eastern side of Africa. It borders the Indian Ocean, and it is in the process of rebuilding itself economically, especially on the coastal regions. There are over a 1000 miles of shoreline, and predictably, the primary attraction for vacationers is the sea. The water is invitingly warm and you will be able to find all of the usual activities such as surfing, wind surfing, snorkeling and even deep- sea game fishing. The beaches are considered to be world class, and as a result, it attracts millions of tourists every year.

The culture of Mozambique is considered to be unique. This is because it is a mix of African, Arab and Portuguese cultures. This is reflected in the food, music, arts&crafts of this region. This is especially true of the coastal towns. In a way, the culture of Mozambique could be described as European mixed with tropical weather. If you go inland there are several game reserves where going on safaris is an option. This is also an excellent way to take a close look at nature. From all of this it is easy to see why Mozambique is fast becoming a nation of vacationers as well as new settlers from around the world.

As far as traveling to Mozambique is concerned there are two ways to do it. Either you can drive from neighboring South Africa and Zimbabwe or fly. Most of the major airlines of the region have regular service to Mozambique. If you plan on traveling by land based vehicles, then the borders are open from 7 AM to 7PM. If you rent a car, then make sure it is allowed to go cross borders; some rental companies do not allow it. Just remember that driving without a shirt or wearing sunglasses while driving is against the law.
